Conference Tracks

The set of activities under this track should be your primary focus if you’re new to the blockchain space, are still trying to understand exactly how the technology works, how it will impact your business and how to reframe your business using it. The following classes are recommended: Business of Blockchains or Blockchains and Distributed Ledger Technologies 101. For those with a technical background, How to build a private corporate blockchain on Hyperledger Fabric is very highly recommended.

Those classes and several conference presentations and discussion panels designed for beginners and business executives should keep you busy, engaged and excited about blockchain technology.
This track is recommended for you if you’re involved in mining cryptocurrencies, want to learn how to mine, what to mine, and how to buy and invest in cryptocurrencies. Also want to learn how to secure your cryptocurrencies using both hardware and software wallets? This track is for you too.

You’ll definitely want to register for How to trade cryptocurrencies using technical and fundamental analyses. And there will be lots of presentations and at least one discussion panel around the same subject to keep you engaged throughout the conference.
Want to learn all about the legal aspects of blockchain and digital ledger technologies, especially as it pertains to cryptocurrencies and what countries and jurisdictions offer the most friendly laws for setting up a blockchain and cryptocurrency startup? Then we highly recommend all the activities under this track.

Blockchain for Legal Professionals and Blockchain for Auditors, Regulators and Law Enforcement are two training programs under this track. They are opportunities to earn CLE and CPE credits.

Besides those classes, several conference presentations, including those by Shamoil Shipchandler and David Hirsch, both of the SEC office in Fort Worth, will provide up to date information regarding the activities of the SEC around cryptocurrencies. Also look for a presentation by Wendy Jackson, International Tax Senior Manager for Deloitte.

Jin Wei Kocsis Back in February 2018, the University of Akron, Ohio, announced that Dr. Jin Wei Kocsis, an assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, was awarded a 3-year, Early Career Faculty grant by NASA to develop a “Resilient Networking and Computing Paradigm (RNCP) that uses the [Ethereum blockchain technology] to create spacecraft that 'think' on their own – allowing them, for example, to automatically detect and dodge floating debris".

Dr. Wei Kocsis will be a keynote speaker at BDT SuperSummit. And the title of her presentation will be A Blockchain-Powered Intelligent Computing Paradigm.

Though we don't know how far the research would be by the time the conference rolls along, it will be an opportunity to learn how NASA will be using "blockchain technology to enhance space communications and navigation" from the person conducting the research. Reserve your ticket(s).
Kaspar Korjus Kaspar Korjus is an official of the government of Estonia. As the Managing Director of the country's e-Residency program, he's in charge of managing Estonia's 35,000+ e-residents. He's a visionary and an innovative thinker in smart and digital governance.

Kaspar is of the opinion that while technology has disrupted many industries, including communications and consumer goods, the only thing left to be disrupted is the nation state. So he intends to deliver a 10-step roadmap for digital societies globally that can be used to redefine nation states to something that he calls a NaaS - Nation as a Service. It should be interesting. Andreas Ittner Professor Andreas Ittner leads the Blockchain Competence Center Mittweida (BCCM), University of Applied Sciences, Mittweida, Germany. Titled Made in Germany – Blockchain Initiatives and Projects in Germany, his keynote will give a deep insight into blockchain initiatives and projects in Germany on the federal, state, province and city levels.

He will address the enormous challenge of identifying real demands for blockchain-based solutions and the transformation of blockchain-based Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) into real applications with deep impact to business process integration. And he will give some examples of initiatives of blockchain-based solutions and the lessons learnt (technical, social, jurisdictional and fiscal) before, during and after the projects.
